Do you agree ? We all want happiness. Who wants to be unhappy ? Most likely no one. Yet the causes of depression, violence, stress, inadequate coping techniques, neurotic symptoms, disorders are all increasing in our civilization.
We as a civilization are becoming technically brilliant and yet from psychological development and maturity point of view lagging far behind. No wonder our own technical brilliance without the necessary psychological maturity and spiritual compassion may land up causing more harm than good for our civilization. Only time will tell what comes out of current trends. How civilization looks in 2100.
But if we take a look at what's happening in 2014, it's clear that most of humanity is looking for ways to feel more happy and satisfied. Behind all the chase for materialism, bling, intimacy, egos, there is somewhere embedded inside for most of us a wish to feel more happy and satisfied. For some people unfortunately it means diminishing others, translating into all kinds of ego battles and nefarious self destructive patterns.
But it's clear that we principles we are looking for as society, are more in realms of Spirituality. (As long as it is rational, clear, relevant for our daily lives spirituality instead of some voodoo, aura, new age disingenuous forms of invalidated concepts).
I am more a proponent of former. Rational, clear and relevant form of spirituality which can be used in our daily lives and which appreciates the inevitable struggles and challenges we all face from day to day.
In the upcoming posts, I will be writing more about spirituality and it's practical relevance for our day to day business and personal lives.
